Request Bathroom Signs
JCADA's Bathroom Signs are integral to empowering survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), more commonly known as domestic abuse, and to lowering the tolerance of abuse in our Jewish DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) community.
By hanging these signs in key locations around your building, people will gain access to life saving, completely free services safely and discreetly.
We ask that you be intentional in the placement of these signs. Visibility is key, especially in private places where people can discreetly collect and digest this information. We recommend hanging one sign in each of the following places per location making them as visible as possible:
· In each individual stall on the back of the door facing the toilet (both men's and women's bathrooms)
-
In each individual urinal above the flushing lever
-
In each single occupancy bathroom (i.e. on the back of the door, next to the soap dispenser, on or next to the paper towel dispenser and hand dryer)
-
In each family bathroom (on the back of the door, on/next to the mirror)
-
In each lactation/mother's room
-
In any other space you believe can make an impact (library, break room, staff lounge, etc.)
